A high school student near Syracuse, New York was arrested last month after police say he faxed a fake letter announcing the from the school's principal announcing his resignation.
Cops say the 17-year-old at Charles W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville, New York first created fake school email addresses in an attempt to get personal information about another student and then faxes a purported resignation letter from the principal. Cops say they eventually caught the teen because he wrote his own cellphone number on the fax cover sheet. They arrested the student, who hasn't been publicly identified, and charged him with criminal impersonation. (WSTM-TV Syracuse)
